The technical innovations that are found till date in today’s mechanical movements were inspired from the 18th century after seeing the domination of English watchmakers. Holland and Germany led their way in making the finest watches in the 17th century with their own inventions, such as balance spring and fusee chain. After this Switzerland came in the front line, Abraham-Louis Breguet a Swiss watchmaker master was an excellent inventor.

His achievements are included in many, such as:

  1. Tourbillon – a rotating watch that counteracts the gravity effects on the pocket watch
  2. Pare-chute – shock absorber mechanism and a flat balance-spring with two terminal coils that’s called “Breguet overcoil.”

In the year 1853 on 1st July, Charles-Felicien Tissot founded the Tissot watchmaker company and it consisted of independent highly trained and specialized workers. Zegarki Tissot mainly focused on the pocket watches, complication or expensive pendant watches, which were destined for the US market.

Tissot gained high coveted at Grand Prix award in the year 1900 in Paris and in the same year the city hosted the 2nd Olympic game. The same year Tissot initiated a long history of collaboration for ambassadors with the wristwatches that was worn by the iconic star Sarah Bernhardt. Later in 1971, Tissot became the manufacturer with the summary of movement blanks productions and it gained the capacity to create a challenging presence around the world.
